Spring Start-up Instructions

Contact Cummins Sprinkler at (402) 420-1063 to get on our Spring Start Up List. Tools needed:  flat screwdriver

Step 1
Go outside to the Backflow and close the test cocks (both) with a screwdriver turning the screws ¼ turn in either direction.  (D)

Step 2
Close the drain valve in the basement. (B) On some sprinkler systems this drain is located outside under the backflow and sometimes there will be two drains, one inside the house and one outside under the backflow. If outside or two drains, close both of them.

Step 3
Turn on the water to the sprinkler system (A)

PLEASE NOTE: You will hear the water flowing through the pipes and water meter. This is normal, but if water continues to flow and does not stop after 1 minute, (on a larger system this can take several minutes to fill the main line) you should check for water leaking from the backflow and/or from the system itself.

Step 4
Go to the Sprinkler Control Clock, replace the battery in the controller (not all models require one) and reset your time and date if needed.

To Start a Watering Cycle.

Press the run manual program button on your sprinkler controller.

If watering does not start, call our office at (402) 420-1063.
